Friday 31 October 5.30pm 'Fountains by Floodlight' Join Linda at Fountains Abbey for a guided tour of the abbey followed by live music in the cellarium. "Wander through glowing ruins, under shadowed archways and hear haunting choral music ringing through the cellarium this autumn"
Sunday 2nd November 10’30am Stuarts Walk Meet at Boston Spa for a 3 hour walk with optional pub lunch.
Thursday 6 November 12 noon Discover Harrogate with a Free Walking Tour. Meet Harry at his spot by the Cenotaph, (opposite Betty's) for a walk around Harrogate, takes about 1hr 20 mins. (tips are expected) We will lunch afterwards somewhere central.
Friday 7 November 10.30am The First Friday outing on November 7 will be to Rothwell Country Park, which was formerly Rothwell Colliery. Since 2002 it’s been a nature reserve run by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust together with Leeds City Council.
Monday 10 November 6.45pm Sue is organising a meal at The Olive in Chapel Allerton
Tuesday 11 November 10am onwards Coffee in Bramhope Meet Clare and Brian in The Bramhope Deli at the bottom of Tredgold Avenue LS16 9BU. If it's packed we might move across the road to the Iron Tiger Coffee Co.
Tuesday 11 November 7.30pm Otley Science Fair - Science Cafe Join Brian at the Otley Courthouse to listen to three speakers each give a quarter of an hour talk on their speciality “Beyond the Notes: Exploring Pain and Suffering Through Spatial Acousmatic Music “The unseen problem of plant blindness' “Concrete at War”.
hursday 13 November 12.30 and 1.30 IVC Committee Meeting to be held at The Harewood Arms. The meeting will start at 1.30pm but some of the committee members may take lunch at the pub beforehand at 12.30 and members would be very welcome at both events.
Friday 14 November 2pm The Harrogate Book Group for October is meeting at Susan's in Ripon at 2pm. We will be discussing the book 'Twelve Secrets' by Robert Gold.
Monday 17 November 12.30 and 1pm Ideas meeting at the Lord Darcy, Leeds Meet 12.30 lunch, 1pm meeting
Tuesday 18 November 2pm The Central Leeds Bar Afternoon will be held at the Scribbling Mill (Wetherspoons). The Scribbling Mill is at White Rose Centre, Dewsbury Road, Leeds LS11 8LU which has free parking and a good bus service.
Wednesday 19 November 6pm and7pm Leeds Book Group at Harewood Arms discussing Fifteen Wild Decembers by Karen Powell.
Thursday 20 November from 10.30am Third Thursday Coffee/Brunch/Lunch at Wetherspoons in Knaresborough from 10.30am.
Thursday 20 November 10.30am onwards Coffee Morning at The Tiled Hall Cafe, Leeds Art Gallery Meet Peter at the Tiled Hall cafe for drinks and cakes and chat. If the cafe is closed as sometimes happens we will be in Browns at the corner of Cookridge St and The Headroom.
Friday 21 November 6, 7, 8.15pm The Leeds and Harrogate IVC 2025 AGM will take place on Friday 21st November 2025. This will be held in the Garden Room of the Harewood Arms Hotel, Harewood, LS17 9LH. The meeting will start at 8.15pm, although we shall meet from 6pm and have a meal from 7pm. The Club will provide a paid for main course and tea/coffee after the meeting
Saturday 22 November from 9.30am Ripon cathedral is running its Christmas fair Susan’s choirs are singing in the morning at 9.50 to 10.20 and 11.10 t0 11.40. If you would like to come to listen and buy some lovely gifts please let her know.
Friday 5-Sunday 7 December IVC Weekend Away Keswick The 'Christmas' weekend away this year is in Keswick. We are once again staying at the Skiddaw Centre which is only a short walk from the town centre and has comfortable ensuite rooms and a great communal space. This year we are trialling the option to stay for 3 nights. The price will be approx. £130 for 3 nts / £90 for 2 nts (both plus food) but may be slightly more or less depending on numbers booked. There will be a festive meal on Saturday evening and cooked/continental breakfasts with costs shared and an optional pub meal organised for Friday evening
Friday 12 December 7.30pm Pre Christmas meal at Imperial Palace, Harrogate. Save the Date!
Saturday 20 December 12.30-2.30pm Leeds & Harrogate IVC Christmas Lunch - Our Christmas lunch will again be held at Lamb & Flag pub-restaurant, Leeds [5 mins walk from Leeds Bus Station] 3 course lunch will be £30 [non-members £40] - see menu on L&F website below [choices sorted out later]. Numbers limited to 40 due to room size. Please note: There are stairs up to the dining room and no lift However, tables would be available on the ground floor near the stairs.
Sunday 21 December 2pm Carols at Fountains Abbey Would you like to join Susan for carols at Fountains Abbey? We sing for an hour at 2pm NT members free. Following on from this is a visit to the illuminated winter wonderland in Ripon Spa gardens, a free event.
