January 2025 Time Event Details
Wednesday 1 10.30am New Year’s Day Walk There will be a New years day walk in Ripon at 10.30. We will have a stroll from my house followed by lunch.
Sunday 5 3pm Welcome in the New Year, Viennese style, at the Square Chapel in Halifax (next to the Piece Hall)
Friday 10 18.30 Bradford City of Culture Opening Event The opening event of the City of Culture year is being held in Bradford City Park. Mike and Jane will be heading over to the performance lasting from 18.30 to 19.15 (gates open 17.00). Tickets are £2.00 or free for over-60s – as an outdoor event, you’ll need to dress appropriately!

Tuesday 14 2pm Central Leeds Bar Afternoon We are trialling meeting up in the afternoon from January. A few members have expressed their wish for this. Consequently, the January Meeting will be held at The Scribbling Mill is at White Rose Centre, Dewsbury Road, Leeds LS11 8LU
Wednesday 15 12.30 and 1.15 Events Planning Meeting The events Ideas meeting is to be held at Harewood Arms If you’re eating beforehand meet at 12.30. For ideas only 1.15,. Look forward to seeing you.
Thursday 16 10.30am Coffee Morning at The Tiled Hall Cafe, Leeds Art Gallery Meet Peter at the Tiled Hall cafe for drinks and cakes and chat then finish your Christmas shopping
Thursday 16 10.30am Third Thursday Coffee/Brunch/Lunch at Wetherspoons in Knaresborough
Friday 17 1pm The Harrogate Book Group for January We will be discussing the book 'Cover the Bones' by Chris Hammer.

Friday 24 6.30pm for 7.30pm Yippee Ki YaY Leeds Playhouse Brian and Clare are going to Yippee Ki YaY - a parody musical version of Diehard (!!). Tickets at £25 are going fast from leedsplayhouse.org.uk. Meet them in the playhouse restaurant from 6.30pm.beforehand.

Tuesday 28 7.30pm Leeds Book group discussing Erebus : The Story of a Ship - Michael Palin.
Thursday 30 10.30am Weekday Walk - Apperley Bridge - 5.5 miles Join Christopher on a gentle stroll around an historic area of Rawdon which, whatever the weather, should be mud-free as the route is virtually all on excellent hard tracks and private roads, in this beautiful green lung between Leeds and Bradford, with good views. There is one short field path as we pass Leeds’ newest vineyard.
February 2025 Time Event Details
Monday 3 for 5 days The early 2025 holiday break will be with Alfa Travel travelling by coach from your local area down to Cromer.
Friday 21 8pm Martin Simpson At Otley Courthouse. Join Jane and Peter to see this brilliant guitarist. His music coves British Folk and Americana. Tickets are £20 from otleycourthouse.org.uk.Seats are unallocated. Meet in the bar beforehand.
Saturday 22 February 2.30pm Harrogate Theatre The latest John Godber play 'Do I Love You'. After its 2024 sell-out tour, 'Do I Love You?' returns. Join twenty-somethings Sally, Nat and Kyle in this hilarious comedy as they develop a love for, and the people involved with, Northern Soul. What started as a College project has grown into a passion, but the dance steps are exhausting.
